The Junior Lotus Racing made its debut in Race 1 of the World Series by Renault Formula 3.5 Championship at the Ciudad del Motor de Aragon (Motorland Aragon Circuit) today, and ended the day relieved after collecting vital points through its drivers Daniil Move and Nelson Panciatici. Though having to brave the rain that came down throughout the race, and ending the quests of several competitors for the day, Move and Panciatici soldiered their way through the grid from positions 16 and 13 respectively, to safely cross the finish line in positions 9 and 5 respectively, securing 8 valuable points for the MOFAZ Racing-owned and operated team based in Wellingborough.
Nelson Panciatici, driving the number 10 car for Junior Lotus Racing, also ended up on the podium today for the Rookie Cup, after securing 3rd position amongst rookies out on the track battling it out during Race 1. The determination and focus that the team has presented to motorsports fan around the world, off and on the track was what attracted the attention of Lotus Racing, which shares the same motivation in its quest to emerge the best ‘new’ F1 team in 2010. An accord was struck between Lotus Racing and MOFAZ Racing to work hand-in-hand to develop F1 stars of tomorrow through the grinding paces of WSR Formula 3.5, which demands a high level of competency amongst its drivers, as it is acclaimed by many as the penultimate step in single-seater racing before F1. The 2010 World Series by Renault Championship Race 2 will resume on the 18th of April in Motorland Aragon, Spain, where Junior Lotus Racing’s Daniil Move and Nelson Panciatici will strive more diligently to gain podium finishes. Junior Lotus Racing is currently 3rd in the World Series by Renault Formula 3.5 Team Championship, and looks forward to bettering its position in Race 2 as well.
