The final pre-season testing for the 2010 Formula 1 season starts at Barcelona on Thursday (25 February). Source: www.yallaf1.com ![]() The final pre-season testing for the 2010 Formula 1 season starts at Barcelona on Thursday (25 February). Next time all the teams gather will be at the Bahrain Grand Prix weekend starting on 12 March. Eleven teams are down to take part in proceedings at Circuit de Catalunya and all, bar Virgin Racing, have released a provisional driver duty schedule for the four days. All concerned will be hoping for better weather so that serious dry run testing can be done as the wet conditions at Jerez proved to be counter productive and did not allow teams to maximise the opportunity. With theses final sessions taking place on the weekend, Saturday and Sunday included, there is likely to be a huge turnout as Fernando Alonso’s new Ferrari career has captured headlines throughout Spain. As for the teams only Lotus is giving their reserve driver Fairuz Fauzy an outing, while Jarno Trulli will have two days in a row and Heikki Kovalainen will be in the cockpit only on Sunday. Interestingly McLaren are following Merecedes GP’s example. of alternating Michael Schumahcer and Nico Rosberg on each day. and alternating Jenson Button and Lewis Hamilton as opposed to giving them two days back to back in the car as they did in the previous tests. Red Bull Racing will run Mark Webber on the first day and last day with Sebastian Vettel on duty in between.
